Our UMES team of six undergraduate students: Anu Akil (Business Administration) , Ne'Angelo Lake (Business Administration), Genesis Mason (Marketing), Efoehe Suleman (Marketing), Teddy Tazewell (Marketing), and Wade Wilkins (Agribusiness) were semifinalists in the national Fed Challenge Collegiate competition 2020. We were one of 18 winners in a pool of 65 universities in the national competition.

Gbemisola Okesanjo mastered time management and overcame adolescent insecurities to find her voice as a dean's list student at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. The results will be on display when she steps to the lectern Dec. 13 to deliver the class of 2019's student commentary at the university's 23rd winter commencement exercises. “Sola,” as she's known around campus, insists she was an introvert when she came to UMES from Chicago in 2016 on scholarship to be a middle blocker on the volleyball team.

Osman Almubarak is a 2012 graduate of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting Magna Cum Laude. In addition, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Al Neelain University in Khartoum, Sudan in 2001. Since 2013, He has served as the Director of Accounting from Shore Up! In Salisbury, Maryland. In addition, he successfully passed the Uniform Certified Public Accountant Examination (CPA Exam) in 2019.

Adora Luster is pursuing her Master of Science in Organization Development from American University. During the fall 2020, Adora will start her doctoral program in Entrepreneurship at the University of Tennessee. Luster earned a Master of Arts in Public Relations and Corporate Communications from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
