Ms. Es'Csence Calais Medley-Anderson Wins Winter Capstone Business Simulation Contest

Peace and Blessings be upon you. This semester's BUAD495-Strategic Management teams performed extraordinary well in their Capstone Business Simulation Contest Ms. Es'Csence Calais Medley-Anderson finished first and beat the professor in the Winter 2023 BUAD495-Strategic Management Capstone Simulation Contest. In addition, her team achieved top 5 rankings in six of the seven statistical categories out performing 724 teams from university and corporate teams from around the world in five rounds of competition. As a result, she was awarded a cash prize of $250.00.

Description. Capstone 2.0 is an advanced strategic management simulation geared toward  Capstone, Strategic Management, and MBA courses. It challenges participants to apply the knowledge they’ve learned across all disciplines of business to develop a corporate strategy.

 Scenario. Participants take over a multi-million-dollar company that manufactures sensors – devices found in phones, vehicles, and much more. Although last year’s financial results were decent, they’re starting to fall behind on the innovation curve. Issues across every department threaten their ability to retain existing or compete for additional market share. It’s up to participants to inject new life into their production strategy, marketing efforts, and finances to establish sustainable growth.

 Target Users. Capstone is appropriate to upper undergrad (and graduate) courses. It is the most sophisticated, advanced, business education program ever created. Because Capstone is educationally so rich, it usually replaces a text book. Where appropriate, you may augment Capstone with selected readings. Capstone is so realistic and powerful, it has been adopted for executive and management training by such renowned corporations as GE, GM, Allstate, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Caterpillar et al.
